Meh... - Let me begin by saying the Indigo Girls are fabulous...all of the songs on this CD are great as well. However, this CD does not fully capture the Girls depth or spirit. For listeners new to the Indigo Girls, this might be a good buy, it is a greatest hits collection after all. But, I d recommend 1200 Curfews over 4.5 any day. 1200 Curfews will give you a taste of the Girls best work and their best live shows while 4.5 will show you what the critics view as their best songs.

4.5 is appropriate - I also included this review for the orginal release avaiable on amazon.com ---If you consider Land of Caanan from Strange Fire, Then 4.5 is an appropriate name. This album does not do enough to cover what the Indigo Girls did over these first FIVE albums (Strange Fire, Indigo Girls, Nomads, Indians, and Saints, Rites of Passage, and Swamp Ophelia). If you want a greatest hits, buy 1200 Curfews, or even better spend your $30 buying 2 or 3 of the first five albums and really see the depth these albums contain. I give it 3 start simply because these are all good songs. However, the first 5 albums by I.G. are full of great songs (a rarity for many albums today).

Great Stuff!! - I am totally psyched to have found this CD! The Indigo Girls are incredible! If you are going to own only one of their albums, this is it. A true Ingigo Girls lover will own all their albums, but this is a fabulous mixture of their most meaningful songs. You really get a feel for what they are all about. I purchased two & gave one to my sister. She can t stop listening to it. We wish they added Chickenman to it, but this is DEFINATELY a must have!! Don t live another day without it!!!!

Truly the Best! - For fans and curious cats, this is the Indigo Girls CD to buy! Every track is amazing, and truly highlights the best of their career together. This is the CD that introduced me to the Indigo Girls, and I became hooked immediately. After becoming a huge fan and buying more CDs, this is still my favorite. Highly recommended.

There s no real need to get this - buy 1200 Curfews instead. - Whereas 4.5 contains most of the songs that have videos or were released as singles, this particular album is no where near a must have for indigo fans. A indigo CD called Starter Kit is available in the US that covers a smaller best of listing. 4.5 offers no insight or no new versions of the songs, it is merely one person s idea of an indigo collection straight off previously released material. If you seriously enjoy the indigos, then buy 1200 Curfews. That CD gives you a glimpse of the indigo power live. It has alternate versions and unreleased material. There is no need to get 4.5, especially at the cost of an import.
